My favorite article on interviewing is by Joel Spolsky, The Guerrilla Guide to Interviewing. It is useful for both interviewers and interviewees. In fact, the best way to learn how to pass interviews successfully is to conduct them. In just several interviews that I held to fill a position in my group I learned more than in dozens of interview experiences of my own.

Look for a "thinker" and a "doer". See Joel's article for definitions.
Maybe means "NO"
There is no wrong question, there is no wrong answer. There are however wrong candidates.
Do not let the candidate (interviewee) waste your time. Interrupt at will.
Take on of the most popular questions listed on internet (from the links below) and ask to find one more solution, or as many as possible different distinct solutions.

Summary items on how to ace your interview…

Do not lie on resume about your skills, especially technical. It takes about 30 seconds to detect any lack of experience.
Do your homework. Do not come unprepared, without knowledge of the company or without your own questions to ask.
Ask questions, during and after interview. Lack of final questions could be interpreted as a lack of interest. If you do not understand a question also ask.
Talk through the solution. Nothing makes a worse impression than a silence through tough questions. Many interviewers are more interested in seeing the way you solve problems, rather than hear the correct solution.
Be your "friendly" self. Subtle compliments could get you far. Offer a little piece of chocolate or candy, but never cross the line.
